Chris Johnson, Owen Krafft, and Fenton Whetstone chose to work with the Ben Lomond Bagpipe Corps for their service learning project. The Bagpipe Corps is a program that is growing each year and does not receive any funding from the school district. This leads to them using equipment that is rapidly aging at performance aimed at raising funds to keep the program going.
Our contact was Cory Jensen who is a music teacher at Ben Lomond High School. After meeting with him we agreed to help in creating a flyer, a concert program, and looking through the grants he had found and selecting one or two that we could write proposals for.
